Clearthur Ford, Jr., 70, of De Kalb, Texas, completed his journey on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He was born on August 18, 1950, in Galveston, Texas, to loving parents, Clearthur Ford, Sr. and Katie Lou Glaspie Ford. Clearthur grew up in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. After attending the local high school he joined the United States Navy where bravely served his country during the Vietnam War. After the military he returned to civilian life and moved to De Kalb. He retired from Red River Army Depot after several years in the paint department. Those who knew Clearthur understood he was a straightforward person. He didn't mix words. He loved his family. He enjoyed spending his spare time by fixing cars. His presence will be missed. Clearthur was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents and a brother-in-law, Willie Harris. He will be missed and remembered by his six sons: Marlin Ford (Shelly) of Centreville, Virginia, Montrae Ford of Houston, Texas, Brandon Wilborn of Dallas, Texas, Andre Ford (Tracie) of Arlington, Texas, Sean Ford (Toya) of Streamwood, Illinois, Cameron Ford of Houston; two daughters: Christie Ford of Carrollton, Texas, Jamie Ford (XL) of Texarkana, Texas; three brothers: David Ford (Diane), Larry Ford, Calvin Ford all of De Kalb; three sisters: Barbara Jones of De Kalb, Delfloris Bishop (Vernon) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Berlinda Harris of California; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a memorial Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am, on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at DeKalb Church of Christ located at 1265 East Front Street De Kalb, Texas 75559.
