Syble L. (Ward) McAteer, age 84, of Rosston, Arkansas died June 11, 2021 in Hope AR. She was born July 27, 1936 near Bodcaw, Arkansas to Olin O. and Annie M. Ward. She married James Adron McAteer June 30, 1952 in Rosston, Arkansas. She was a member of the Prescott Assembly of God. Syble was a homemaker that spent her adult life supporting her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother, Bill Ward. She is survived by three sons; Michael McAteer and wife Jane Ann of Springfield, MO., Gary McAteer and wife Brenda of Bodcaw, AR., and Stephan McAteer and husband Tom Gray of Little Rock, AR.; one brother, Pete Ward and wife Gundy of Bodcaw, AR.; two sisters, Virginia Williams of Bodcaw, AR. and Bernice Bobo and husband Earl of Springhill, AR.; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Coleman, Bertha Sanders and Christine Hollins. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the compassionate caregivers from Elite Home Health and Kindred and Home. Funeral services will be held 2P.M. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR. with interment following at Union Cemetery in Rosston, AR. under direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6P.M.—8P.M. Monday June 14, 2021 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR. Online registration is available at www.aosmithfuneralhome.com.
