GENE HOLMES

Paul Gene Holmes, 90, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Holmes was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Bowie County, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a member of Liberty-Eylau Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Holmes. <br />Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Paul D. and Elizabeth Holmes of Texarkana; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette and Rocky Woods of Texarkana; three grandchildren and grandchildren-in-law, Tricia and Chris Clem of Highland, Ark., Margie and Eric Cato of Sacramento and Doug and Amber Holmes of Indianapolis; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. <br />Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Chris Clem officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.chapelwoodfuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
