LEROY BLOCK

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—Leroy Bennie “Sonny” Block, 62, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in a Texarkana hospital. <br />Mr. Block was born April 6, 1947, in Hot Springs. He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and Texarkana Motorcycle Club and an Army veteran. <br />Survivors include three daughters, Kenyetta Block and Kaleybra Block of California and Lois Marie Block of Texarkana; his parents, Bennie and Lois Block of Texarkana; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry “Bubba” and Harriette Block of Katy, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and the Rev. Freddie L. Smith of Fulton, Ark.; the mother of his children, Gwendolyn Block; two grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Canaan Baptist Church with the Rev. F.L. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the church. <br />Memorials may be made to Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund or a favorite charity.
