ALMA SWIFT SR.

HOPE, Ark.—Alma “Son” Swift Sr., 79, of Ozan, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, in a Nashville, Ark., nursing home. <br />Mr. Swift was born June 19, 1930, in Columbus, Ark. He was a farmer, employee of Champion Generator and a member of Powerhouse COGIC, Ozan. <br />Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lee Swift; seven sons, Alma Swift and Gary D. Swift of Ozan, James Swift, Billy Swift, Lawrence Swift Benson and Nathaniel Swift Benson of Nashville and Milton Swift of Little Rock; one daughter, Renita West of Ozan; two sisters, Earsie L. Trotter of Ozan and Sadie Benson Jr. of Nashville; one brother, Darryl Swift of Greenville, Texas; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Powerhouse COGIC with Elder Clarence Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Washington, Ark., under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. <br />The body may be viewed 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
