JAMES LEWIS

GONZALES, La.—James Vernon Lewis, 78, of Atlanta, Texas, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2009. <br />Mr. Lewis was born Feb. 24, 1931, in Vivian, La. He was a plant operator for Ormet Corp., a member of American Legion Post 258 and Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church, Atlanta, and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jo Long Lewis. <br />Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Raymond Settoon of Gonzales; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Mary Lewis of Shreveport, La., and Betty and Tommy Adams of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Patricia Faught, James Guy Settoon and Nathan Ray Settoon; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tanglewood Baptist Church. Another service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Orso Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Prairieville, La. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Tanglewood Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
