RONALD BARNHART

Ronald Barnhart, 69, of Wake Village, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Barnhart was born May 22, 1940, in Hanover, Pa. He was retired from the Army, a retired truck driver, a member of Disabled American Veterans and The Military Order of the Purple Heart, a Methodist, a Green Beret and a Vietnam War veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Barnhart; and one daughter, Linda Sue Barnhart. <br />Survivors include his wife, Ruby Barnhart of Wake Village; two sons, Thomas Barnhart of Briggs, Texas, and Ronald Barnhart Jr. of Florence, Italy; six stepdaughters, Michelle Whiteside, Shannon Carpenter, Teresa Bradley and Jennifer Walker of Wake Village, Misty Cole of Houston and Lee Wampler of Cheyenne, Okla.; four brothers, Oren Barnhart of Lakeland, Fla., Michael Barnhart of Lehighton, Pa., Dale Barnhart of York, Pa., and Henry Barnhart of Hanover; six sisters, Mary Jane Sponseller and Phyllis Mathis of Hanover, Joy Strausbaugh of Glenville, Pa., Anna Wilson of Dallastown, Pa., and Gloria Kepler and Susan Barnhart of York; two stepbrothers, Sam Landis of York and Carl Landis of Glenville; 17 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with David Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Relatives will be at the home of Jennifer Walker, 223 Parkview Lane, Wake Village. <br />Memorials may be made to any Disabled American Veterans chapter. <br />Online registration is at www.chapelwoodfuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
