DALE McDANIEL

Edwin Dale McDaniel, 87, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. McDaniel was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Mineral Springs, Ark. He was a retired manager of Morgan Plan Loan Co., a deacon, Sunday School teacher and member of Downtown First Baptist Church and a World War II veteran and POW. He was preceded in death by one wife, Jean Laverne McDaniel. <br />Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Moore Chastain McDaniel of Texarkana; two sons, Rodney McDaniel of Texarkana and Paul McDaniel of Dallas; one daughter, Dr. Karen McDaniel of Ellington, Conn., two stepdaughters, Linda Gray of Texarkana and Rita Sawyer of Conway, Ark.; two brothers, Walter E. McDaniel and Harold McDaniel of Texarkana; two sisters, Nina Phillips of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Inez Staley of Texarkana; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Downtown First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Gibbons and Dr. Herbert Wren officiating. Burial with military rites will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. <br />Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Downtown First Baptist Church for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, 401 Pine Street, Texarkana, TX 75501. <br />Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
