EARLENE CRIBBS

TAYLOR, Texas—Earlene Dotson Cribbs, 84, of DeKalb, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, in an Atlanta, Texas, hospital. <br />Mrs. Cribbs was born July 28, 1925, in DeKalb. She was a teacher, former employee of Red River Army Depot and Domestic Private Home, former president of Marvin Pynes School PTA, and a member of Gospel Music Workshop of America Longview Chapter, CME State Convention of Texas, Progessive and Zion District Associations, Masonic Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Texas, Prince Hall Affiliation, Penelope No. 301 and St. Paul Baptist Church, DeKalb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Hayes Cribbs; and one son, Van Earl Cribbs. <br />Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ruby Harmon and Willie Mack of Linden, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Lou Ellen Cribbs of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren and two spouses, Kenneth and Laura Cribbs of Texarkana, Frostie and Frederick Lewis of Killeen, Texas, and Marcus Brown o f DeKalb; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church, DeKalb. Burial will be in DeKalb City Cemetery under direction of Franklin Funeral Services. <br />Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
