JOHN BECKETT

John Owen “Buzzard” Beckett Sr., 67, of Queen City, Texas, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Beckett was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Fort Towson, Okla. He was a mechanic. <br />Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, John “Boo” Jr. and Tracy Beckket of Redwater, Texas; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Sue and Charlie Teel of Houston, Judy and Don Hicks of Texarkana and Mary Kathryn Stephens of Dallas; two grandsons, Jonathan Beckett and Devin Beckett; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Chapelwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery, Atlanta, Texas. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.chapelwoodfuneralhome.com.
