BRIZEL OVERTURF

DE QUEEN, Ark.—Brizel Edkar “B.E.” “Slim” Overturf, 94, of Gillham, Ark., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, in a De Queen hospital. <br />Mr. Overturf was born Aug. 2, 1915. He was a retired copper miner, a mechanic, a member of the VFW and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wives, Mable Rose Overturf and Dorothy Russell Overturf; one stepdaughter, Sue; and two grandchildren, B.J. and Josh. <br />Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Mary Overturf of De Queen and James and Donna Overturf of Gillham; two stepdaughters, Marsha Jones of Phoenix and Marlene Bright of Safford, Ariz.; one special friend, Jack Jones of Grannis, Ark.; and a number of other relatives. <br />Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Overturf Cemetery with the Rev. Homer Frachiseur officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.wilkersonfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br />
