ALICE HAWKINS

Alice Marie Hawkins, 53, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mrs. Hawkins was born March 21, 1955, in Texarkana, Ark. She was a former computer operator, a Baptist, former Sunday School Women’s Class teacher and Vacation Bible School Youth and Mission Class teacher. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristi T. Hawkins. <br />Survivors include her husband, the Rev. J.D. Hawkins of Texarkana; one daughter, Tiffany M. Hawkins of Fort Worth, Texas; her father, Emmit B. Smith Sr. of Texarkana; one sister, Joyce Cooper of Wake Village, Texas; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Polly Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Garry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
