CECIL TISDALE

Cecil Edward Tisdale, 87, of Texarkana, Ark., died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Tisdale was born Aug. 27, 1921, in Miller County, Ark. He was a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Bliven Tisdale; and one son, Charles Michael Tisdale. <br />Survivors include one daughter, Cecilia O’Connor of Gallatin County, Ky.; three sons, Charles Tisdale of Trimble County, Ky., Cecil Tisdale of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Glenn Tisdale of Blue Springs, Mo.; one sister, Lula Rhyne of Wake Village, Texas; five special friends, Laverne Pickering, Kenny Pickering, Debbie Pickering, Blynda Connor and Tim Connor; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Burial with military rites will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. <br />Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Scott Pickering Scholarship Fund, c/o Horatio State Bank, P.O.
