WALTER LEEPER

DE QUEEN, Ark.—Walter J. Leeper, 90, of Walnut Springs community, Ark., died Monday, March 2, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Leeper was born Sept. 9, 1918, in Walnut Springs. He was retired from Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas, a Rotarian, a Methodist and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Leeper, on Aug. 26, 2007. <br />Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Marianne Leeper of Athens, Texas, and Marcia and Steve Buford of Horatio, Ark.; two sisters, Sue Reed of New Boston, Texas, and Ruth Sportsman of Euless, Texas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Tom and Tobi Parsons; one great-granddaughter, Camryn; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, De Queen, with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will be in Redmen Cemetery under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. <br />Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church renovation fund, P.O.
