JOSEPHINE McPHERSON

HOPE, Ark.—Josephine Hopson McPherson, 81, of Hope died Saturday, March 7, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mrs. McPherson was born Feb. 28, 1928. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she was a missionary deaconess and a member of Pastor’s Aid and the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin McPherson Sr.; one son, Leotis McPherson; and one daughter, Mary Ann McPherson. <br />Survivors include one son, Calvin McPherson Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Joann Kindle and Marilyn Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; seven sisters, Rosie Lee Jones and Nellie Jean Jones of Hope, Maxine White, Shirley Benton, Betty Hardin and Hazel Thomas of Wichita, Kan., and Carolyn Holland of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnnie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Azor Cemetery, Azor, Ark., under direction of Brandon’s Mortuary. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
