DOROTHY CARTER

PRESCOTT, Ark.—Dorothy S. Carter, 89, formerly of Prescott, died Monday, March 16, 2009, in a Mena, Ark., nursing home. <br />Mrs. Carter was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Columbus, Ark. She was a certified nursing assistant at Hillcrest Nursing Home and a member of Prescott Church of Christ and Mena Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Carter. <br />Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Lucy and Thomas Jones and Patricia Stewart of Mena; one son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Janice Carter of Prescott; three grandchildren, Paula Jones of Mena, Christina Cable of Cashlin, Okla., and Julie Sacket of Oklahoma City; and a number of nieces and nephews. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Prescott Church of Christ. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery under direction of Pharr Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Peachtree Activity Fund, Peachtree Lane of Mena, 1803 Cordic Drive, Mena, AR 71953. <br />Online registration is at www.pharrfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br />
