Charles Malcom “Mike” Thompson, 78, of Asheboro, N.C., died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in an Asheboro hospital. <br />Mr. Thompson was retired from the Texas Highway Department, a member of C4, Asheboro, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Texarkana, and a Korean War Army veteran. <br />Survivors include his wife, Barbara D. Thompson of Asheboro; two daughters, Cheryll L. Beard of Texarkana and Patty L. Mulkey of Asheboro; three brothers, Bobby Joe Thompson of Homer, La., Don M. Thompson of San Antonio and Truman C. Thompson of Fort Worth, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Arroyo officiating.
