GEORGE BEATY

HOPE, Ark.—George Edward Beaty, 94, of Emmet, Ark., died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Beaty was born March 8, 1915, in Emmet. He was a carpenter, a former employee of Brown & Root Construction, a former basketball coach at Emmet High School, a Mason, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Prescott Lodge and attended Emmet United Methodist Church. <br />Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stinnett Beaty of Emmet; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Deborah Anne and Thomas Kirby of Carriere, Miss., Barbara Louise and Manuel Sandoval of Houston and Vicki Lynn and Johnny Clary and Ella Marzee Cottingham of Emmet; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a number of other relatives. <br />Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Snell Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br />
