CHARLES POWELL

Charles Vernon Powell, 77, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, in Texarkana. <br />Mr. Powell was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Springhill, Ark. He was retired from Midwest Dairy, owner of Ashdown Theatre, formerly worked for Dr Pepper, former president of Texarkana Moose Lodge, founder of Charlie Powell and The Rhythm Masters band and a member of Faith Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Powell, in 1992. <br />Survivors include his wife, Sharon Powell of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Wayne and Cindy Powell; two daughters, Pamela Sue Daniel and Lorie Ann Snider; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Gary Allen and Elizabeth Ingvardsen; one sister and brother-in-law, Sarah Jo Jackson and Walter Glanville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Assembly of God with the Revs. Don Brankel and Gary Gunter officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Relatives will be at 4010 Columbine, Texarkana, Texas. <br />Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
