James “Doc” Lynn Gorman, age 66, a resident of New Boston, Texas passed away, Sunday, April 3, 2022 in a Texarkana hospital. James was born November 1, 1955 in Ashdown, Arkansas to James H. and Clivie Jene Gorman. He grew up in Foreman, Arkansas. He worked as a truck driver for many years until he retired in 2019. He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, James H. and Clivie Jene Gorman; his wife, Mary Gorman; and his granddaughters, Mary and Breona Hutson. He is survived by his significant other, Carolyn Everett of New Boston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Durinda and Ben Hutson of De Kalb, Texas and Elizabeth and Sithat Thanasouk of Jacksonville, North Carolina; one sister and niece, Helen and Brandi Farrow of Victoria, Texas; one brother, Mark Gorman of Washington, Arkansas; Carolyn’s daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Joe McIntosh and their children, Carolyn’s son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Stacy Mitchell and their children; 10 grandchildren, Cody, Julien, Tammie, Justin, Eden, Sophia, Eilam, Isabella, Leondias, and Rylie; two great grandsons, Carter and Elijah Hutson; one special boy, Woody of Tennessee; and many cousins and friends. Daddy was known for liking fast cars and pretty women. He had a unique sense of humor, told good stories, and loved to “aggravate” everyone he could. He loved to learn, and said to let everyone know, “Life is one big education, you never stop learning.” He loved his grandkids so much and always wanted near them. He will be missed by those close to him. I hope he is riding horses with John Wayne and the ole Monster just like he told during bedtime stories. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Gorman will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2022 in Campground Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. You may leave a condolence online at www.wilkersonfuneralhomes.com.
