JIMMY SHERRIN

Jimmy Lee Sherrin, 83, of Texarkana TX, passed away on April 26th, 2022. Jim was born to Johnnie Sherrin and Dorothy Collins on September 2, 1938 in Avery, Texas, where he lived until he graduated. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force as a nuclear weapons mechanic specialist at Barksdale Air Force Base. He was employed in management at various plants in the production of military ammunition boxes. He served as plant manager for Commercial Box and Lumber Co. for most of his career. He was involved in local civic organizations, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanie (Van Meter) Sherrin, son Jay Dee Sherrin, son John Sherrin, son Jeff Sherrin, brother Jerry Sherrin, and sister Betty Sherrin. Jim is survived by his wife Patricia (Morman) Sherrin, daughters Jeanna Morris (Steve), Julie Barentine (Bill), Candy Elam (Tim) and Mona Simms (Pat) of Bismarck AR, sister Jeanette Hallum of Killeen TX, sister Beth Collins (Jackie) of Weatherford TX, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, April 30th 4-6 pm, at the home of Steve and Jeanna Morris 75 Chesterfield Cr. Texarkana TX. A private family service will follow on Sunday afternoon.
