Boyce Grider

Boyce Wayne Grider passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his home in Malta, Texas. He was 79. Boyce was born March 6, 1943, in New Boston, Texas, to Hiram Burrows and Elsie Irene Brewer Grider. He was a retired Production Superintendent from Day & Zimmerman after 47 years of service and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dale Grider; a brother, Hiram B. Grider, Jr.; three sisters, Frances Perry, Juanita Shelton and Ruth Otwell; fraternal twin brother and sister, Ella and Thomas Grider; and a grandson, Eric Grider. Boyce is survived by his wife, Melba Allen Grider of Malta, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Patrice Grider of New Boston, Texas and Ronald and Thomesa Grider of Douglassville, Texas; two sisters, Elna Grider of New Boston, Texas and Clara Smith of New Boston, Texas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Don and Ruthie Grider of New Boston, Texas and Doyle Grider of De Kalb, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Keith Tefteller officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
