Billy Ray Tims

Billy Ray Tims, age 88, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in a local nursing home. He was born June 4, 1933 in Bivins, Texas to Charlie and Louella Tims. Billy was a member of Bethsaida “Y” Baptist Church and Port Lavaca Masonic Lodge # 36. He was a welder by trade and loved to stay busy. Billy enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing and golfing and gave everyone a nickname. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; five sisters; one daughter, Dorothy Moore; grandson, Heath Tims; great granddaughter, Avery Shirhall; and great grandson, Landon Peeples. Billy is survived by his wife of 69 years, Tommye Tims of Atlanta, Texas; three sons, Bobby Tims and wife Diane of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Keith Tims and wife Vonnette of Wills Point, Texas, Jeffery “B.B.” Tims and wife Rhonda of Mena, Arkansas; one daughter, Donna Shirhall of Atlanta, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of other family and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 3, 2022, in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Zion Hill Cemetery, Linden, Texas.
