MARY STONE

Mary Margaret Clark Stone, age 80, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2022, at Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, Texas. Mary was born on January 15, 1942 in Miami, Florida, to her parents Alston Baskin Clark and Ida Mable Lamb Clark. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and was retired from the Redwater Texas School District after decades of service. Mary enjoyed reading and genealogy. She was an active member in her church and loved to tell people about Christ. Her greatest joy was her family. Mary actively engaged with her family and extensively researched their history, discovering connections both famous and mundane. She also loved traveling with her husband, J.B, and sometimes visited her eldest son, Trey, when he was stationed at various locations throughout the world when he was in the Army. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Junius Bragg “J.B.” Stone, Jr.; her younger sister, Dixie Lizbeth Anne Young; and her youngest son Alston Clark “Chip” Stone. Left to cherish her memory is her oldest son, Junius Bragg “Trey” Stone III and her older sister, Agnes Olivia Privett. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Blvd. to be followed by a graveside service at New Boston Cemetery with Pastor Chris Sutherland of First Church of the Nazarene, Texarkana, Texas officiating.
