Richard Earl Kerr, 90, died Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Primrose Retirement Community in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Fort Sill National Military Cemetery. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. March 26, 2022 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Chuck Huffman, Retired District Superintendent for the Texarkana District, United Methodist Church presiding. Richard was born December 28, 1931, in Bartlesville, to Minnie Maye Pitzer Kerr and Victor Louis Kerr. He graduated in 1951 from Garber High School, where he was an all-state halfback and active in FFA. He earned an associates degree from Frank Philips College in 1957. He joined the United States Navy in 1951, and early in his tour of duty married his high school sweetheart, Rowena Fay Campbell of Breckenridge. After the Navy, they lived in West Texas before settling in Hooks, Texas, for 54 years. Kerr was a Journeyman electrician and led active youth and lay ministries at Hooks United Methodist. He retired as a master electrician at Day @ Zimmerman after 32 years. His work also included numerous electrical insulations all over the Four States Area, including stores, schools, dairies, churches, and many homes. Richard is survived by his wife, Rowena; his children, Robert Kerr, Rex Kerr, and Rhonda Oliver; son-in-law Jeff Oliver; grandchildren, Bobby Oliver, Jimmy Oliver, Nina Weaver, and Clint Oliver; grandsons-in-law John Weaver and John Mark Day; granddaughters-in-law Sheena Oliver and Amanda Oliver; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Elizabeth, Andie, Braeden, JJ, Charlie, Jackson, RJ, and Cora.
