Sharon Kay Bruce

Sharon Kay Bruce of Simms, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. She was 74. Sharon was born February 10, 1947, in Bogata, Texas, to Claude Cotnie and Opal Elizabeth Mauldin Mayes. She was retired from Red River Army Depot, was a Cosmetologist and Beautician and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Simms, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sons, Jason Beggs, C.R. Reed, Noel Reed, Jr. and Herbert Bruce; and a brother, Steve Mayes. She is survived by her husband, Roger Bruce of Simms, Texas; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeff and Kellie Beggs of Simms, Texas, Brady and Sara Wisinger of Clarksville, Texas and John K. Bruce of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Lisa Beggs of De Kalb, Texas and Randie Bruce-Addy and her husband, John of Simms, Texas; a sister, Bobbie McClaran of New Boston, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Maxine Mayes of New Boston, Texas and Rickey and Judy Mayes of New Boston, Texas; a sister-in-law, Anita Mayes of New Boston, Texas; 10 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson; very special friends, Paula, Glenda, Brenda, Jane and Pat; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Henry Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Pulaski Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.
