July 6, 1926-February 4, 2022 Mrs. Ella Mae Criner was born July 6, 1926, in Hope, AR to the late William Lacy and Leola Cannon. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, big momma, and aunt. She was gracious and unselfishly concerned for and devoted to the welfare of others. Her giving heart would not allow her to turn away a person in need. She would say “I do not have much but you are welcome to what I have”. She liked to cook, camp, and go to the casino but fishing was her passion. Spending time with loved ones brought her the most joy. Caring for, teaching, and guiding her family across five generations, she considered her greatest accomplishment. Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Criner; two brothers, Willie Lacy (Catherine), Charlie Lacy; four sisters, Versie Lee Wells and Gracie Lee Harris, Luebirda Lyons and Ethel Lacy; son-in-law, Arthur Collins. Memories of Ella’s love and benevolent spirit will forever be cherished by her: Two daughters: Iola Hamilton, Louann Criner (Arthur); one sister-in-law: Catherine Lacy; two granddaughters: Brenda Soberanis, Retia (Michael) Middlebrook; four great-grandchildren: Cory Barnes, Lea Criner, Devorrius Criner and Meirra Middlebrook. She also leaves, five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends to cherish her memory.
