Joanne Tidwell Tucker of De Kalb, Texas passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at her home in De Kalb, Texas. She was 88. Joanne was born December 15, 1933 in Simms, Texas to Joseph Glenn Tidwell and Dessie Thompson Tidwell. She was a homemaker and cosmetologist. Joanne was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where she held many local, regional, and state offices and served as a Worthy Matron in the De Kalb chapter. She was a member of Austin Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Tucker; her parents, Joseph Glenn Tidwell and Dessie Thompson Tidwell Corn; her stepfather, Coy B. Corn; and one grandson, Chris Matthews. She is survived by one daughter, Mickey Tucker Allen and her husband, Paul of Clarksville, Texas; two sons, Gary R. Tucker and his wife, Lisa of Hallsville, Texas and Randall Jay Tucker of De Kalb, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Sue Tucker or De Kalb, Texas; one brother, Joe Tidwell of Arlington, Texas; six grandchildren, Bradley Tucker of De Kalb, Texas, Leland Tucker and his wife, Leslie of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jared Tucker of Texarkana, Texas, Abigail Allen Taylor and her husband, Clay of Clarksville, Texas, Dan Matthews of Hallsville, Texas, and Terri Wade and her husband, Jeremy of Magnolia, Texas; four great grandchildren, Miles Tucker of Conway, Arkansas, Max Tucker of Little Rock, Arkansas, Caton Taylor of Clarksville, Texas, and Penelope Tucker of Little Rock, Arkansas; five cousins, Patsy Wooten of Hooks, Texas, Noel Johnson of Texarkana, Texas, Tom Foster and his wife, Kim of Maud Texas, Wayne Foster and his wife, Cindy Maud, Texas, and Melinda Foster and her husband, Robert of Maud, Texas; a special niece and nephew, Sherry and Al Holcombe of De Kalb, Texas; a special friend and caregiver, Ruby Riley Skinner of Clarksville, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Simms, Texas. Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
