Mr. L. C. (Diddly) Chatman was born May 31, 1927 in Simms, Texas to the parentage of Mr. Griffin and Mrs. Luella Sanders Chatman. He transitioned on Saturday, February 19, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the first child of twelve siblings. Mr. Chatman attended Macedonia High School in Texarkana, Texas. He loved Farming, Horses, Cows, and Hunting. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a Faithful and Dedicated member of Greater Shiloh Church Of God In Christ. He was the oldest Deacon, Member of the Trustee Board and his life reflected the Image of Jesus Christ. Whatever the Church needed he was available. He had a special love for every member of the Church, including the Leadership of his Pastor, Supt. James Tudman and 1st Lady Nell Tudman. He was a People Person and loved helping others and always lending a hand to all who needed his help. On March 19, 1951 he married Ms. Minnie Braggs, the love of his life. During their 70 years, six children were born. He was employed with Red River Army Depot and Retired after 41 years of Service. He was an excellent worker and employee and received many Honors and well liked by his Employer and Co-Workers. Mr. Chatman was preceded in death by his parents, Griffin and Luella Chatman, Son: Steve Chatman Sr., Siblings: Bessie Buchanan, Dessie Allen, Ruby Cullins, Claudia Burton and Leon Chatman, Sr. Those left to cherish his memories: His Wife: Minnie Chatman of Nash, TX. Son: L. B. Chatman of Texarkana, TX. Four Daughters: Dianne (Benjamin) Davis of Texarkana, TX. Barbara Lock of Nash, TX. Ellise Chatman of Nash, TX. Coletta Chatman of Little Rock, AR. Sisters: Betty Bush, Naydean (Henry) Casteel, Shirley Ellis, Wilma Williams, Patricia Chatman and Sundra Chatman all of Texarkana, TX. Twelve Grandchildren, Twenty-two Great Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Church Family other Relatives and many Friends. Visitation is Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Greater Shiloh Church Of God In Christ 201 Clark Street Nash, TX. Funeral Service is Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Greater Shiloh COGIC with Supt. James Tudman, Pastor and Elder Roger Simon, Officiating. Elder Cedric Weatherall of Christ Nations Church is Eulogist. Burial at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Nash, TX. under the Direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED!
