ALBERT GORDON BUCKWORTH, JR.

Albert Gordon Buckworth, Jr., 84, of Ladson, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, January 1, 2022 in a Charleston South Carolina Hospital. The relatives and friends of Albert Buckworth, Jr. are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Gordon Buckworth was born in Elkton Maryland, on December 18th, 1937 and at a very young age moved with his family to Camden Arkansas. Gordon was a man of many passions. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. One of his greatest joys was helping others. He had a charismatic personality and always knew how to make you laugh. Nothing could arouse his anger or excitement quicker than his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. He cherished his lifelong friends as well as the TV remote on Sunday after church. Gordon attended Southern Arkansas University and then joined the United States Navy. He later went on to own Western Auto and Hog Heaven stores. He is survived by his children, Michael Buckworth (Teresa) and Beth Ann Holliday; his grandchildren, Kaelyn Tweed (Aaron), Seth Buckworth and Cody Allen, as well as his great grandson, Nolan Kyle Tweed. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Jerolyn Buckworth; his parents, Albert Sr. and Ida Buckworth; his step mother, Evelyn Buckworth and his grandson, Jay-Michael Lohse.
