VEDA POWELL

Veda Vaudine Thompson Powell, age 96, of Texarkana, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022. Veda was born September 30, 1925, in Lubbock, TX. ; then, she and her family moved to New Boston, TX. where she grew up. After marriage and living in Texarkana (both sides), she worked at Dillard’s; then volunteered at Wadley Hospital and then did “Sitting” (in-home oversight for patients). Most of her time was spent helping others. Preceded in death by her husband, Travis Powell and her son, Bill Powell. Survived by her oldest son, Gary Haak; granddaughter, Sharla Domogauer (Greg) and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Carlie. Also survived by nieces Chayta Mills; Sandra Mailandt (Peter); Linda Powell; Joan Dean; Gayle Pierce (Gordon) and Teena McMasters Daniel. And, nephews David Powell and Mike Hervey. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Mike Watson for his enduring friendship and care. We would appreciate any floral offering or donation of your choice. Family visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 3, 2022 at East Funeral Home-Downtown followed at 2:00 P.M. with a funeral service. Burial will be in Chapelwood Cemetery.
