Michael Anthony Paxton, 65, of Texarkana, Texas passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Debbie Paxton and the father of Kevin Paxton. They shared 37 years of happiness together. He was born in Lost Prairie, Arkansas. He was the son of Berth Mae Moseley. He accepted Christ at a young age and loved to sing in the junior choir. Michael was a star basketball player at Arkansas High School, where he graduated. He went to play at Paris Junior College and Harding University as well. He was later employed as a drug counselor at FCI Texarkana, TX for 30 years before retiring in 2012. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he was a member of the Usher Board and a Trustee. He took his duties very seriously and spent numerous hours making sure the church ran smoothly. He would help anybody he could and didn’t mind going the extra mile. He will be remembered for his love of God, family, his infectious smile, and caring heart. Michael also loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching sports to no end. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Kevin (Lauryn), brother Freddie (Precious); sisters, Jean, Amelia, Sheila, Cassandra, Vivian, and grandchildren Amarie and Nigel. Visitation (viewing) for Mr. Paxton will be 1:00 -2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 168 Payton Rd, Texarkana, TX. Closed Casket Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church, Texarkana, TX with Pastor Sheldon Williams as the eulogist. Interment to follow in Memorial Gardens, Texarkana, AR.
