January 14, 1943 – July 18, 2022 Edna Belle (Garrett) Cook, born January 14, 1943, in Stephens County GA, passed from this life surrounded by her loving family on July 18, 2022, at Rose Haven Retreat in Atlanta TX. She was 79 years old. Edna is preceded in death by parents Charlie D Garrett and Frances E (Fowler) Burden; daughters Kristen Cook and Tanya Cook; brother Ralph Garrett, Charles Garrett, Leon Garrett, Lloyd Garrett, Robert Garrett, and Bobby Garrett; sister Jeanette Cook; and great grandchild Stetson Beard. She is survived by daughters Denise Beard and husband Stacy Beard of Queen City TX, and Shelia Wilson and husband Wayne Wilson of Bloomburg TX; brother Kenneth Garrett and wife Helen of Gladewater TX; grandchildren Jennifer Lance, Dustin Wilson, Kelsey Beard, Kody Wilson, Justin Howe Jr, and Trey Wilson; great grandchildren Hunter Lance, Gracie Lance, Rhiley Livingston, Aiden Sheldon, Dax Sewell, Stratton Wilson, Lakyn Lance, Ella Bourne, Finnon Wilson, Joel Wilson, and Poppy Wilson; great-great grandchild Colt Nuckels; dear sister in law Kathryn Garrett; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Edna enjoyed spending time and playing games at the Senior Citizens Center in Atlanta, as well as trips to Dairy Queen for ice-cream. She is remembered by her family as a devout Christian and a true spitfire. She was independent, strong willed, led by example, and was truly the rock of her family. She will be dearly missed by the ones she leaves to cherish her memory. A visitation in Edna’s honor will be held at Queen City Funeral Home on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 6pm-8pm. A funeral will be held at Queen City Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2022, beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at Queen City Cemetery.
