(June 28, 1964 - July 16, 2022) Mr. Marvin Lewis Butler, 58, of Texarkana, TX, transitioned into eternity on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at a local hospital. Marvin L. Butler was born June 28, 1964 in Texarkana, TX to the late Ruby J. Wilson and John “Bob” Wilson, Sr. Marvin attended and graduated from Redwater High School in 1982. He was a licensed minister and faithfully administered the Word to all who accepted the Word of Jesus Christ. Marvin was also a certified butcher and was called upon to clean and butcher any type of meats especially fish. He faithfully served in the United States Army from 1982 till 1988’ when he was honorably discharged. He was a disabled veteran. He will be remembered for his famous shiny green 1979 Buick Regal cruising through the city and dared anyone to get beside it and race him. He leaves his love and legacy to brothers - Carl Butler, Sr. of Houston, TX; Edgar Butler (Sandra) of Arlington, TX; Nathan Jones, Sr. (Shirley) of Texarkana, TX; Charles Jones, Sr. of Texarkana, TX; and John “Bud” Wilson, Jr. of Texarkana, TX. Sisters - Rita Butler of Texarkana, TX; Audrey Anderson (Joe, Sr.) of Texarkana, TX; Crystal Richardson of Texarkana, TX; Gwen Stiger of Texarkana, TX; and Novel Jones of Texarkana, TX; Special Aunt - Helen R. Wilson; classmate and best friend - Lendale Wilbanks and a host of other relatives, friends and classmates. Services will be at the Thomas E. Haynes Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with military honors.
