Toni House

Toni House ran into the arms of Jesus on July 14, 2022. She was welcomed to Heaven by her husband Cowboy Bill, stepfather Gene “Big Daddy” Hodgkinson, and grandmother, Nina McCormack. If you knew Toni, you knew she was crazy about the Lord and pretty zany in general. Toni was a hairstylist by trade and comedian by birth. If you were in her chair you didn’t leave without a laugh, a great shampoo and an encouraging word. Toni also served as the Children’s Choir Coordinator at First Baptist Church in Atlanta, TX, for well over a decade. She knew how to throw one heck of a kick-off party but was quick to give credit, and the mic, to the amazing ladies that served beside her. She was a lover of Sonic ice, Diet Coke, writing, and thrifting—oh, so much thrifting! Seriously, she left behind a lot of stuff her daughter has no idea what to do with. Anyone interested in costume jewelry, graphic tees, matchbooks or extremely random knickknacks, please wait the appropriate amount of time to reach out to the family. Tomorrow should be fine. She was a devoted parent (read: helicopter mom) to Emily and bonus mom to Britt, Noni to her granddaughter Sutton, a great wife that kept Bill on his toes, Freda’s youngest (and funniest) daughter, the baby sister to Terri West and Jana Brosin, sister-in-law (and -love) to Mike and Larry, the crazy, fun aunt to Zeb, Kathryn, Kaci Boo, Britt, Josh and Caleb. Of all the titles she held, most of us knew her as a genuine friend. She loved her cowboy and was so ready to be reunited with him in Heaven. She has left a hole in the hearts of those of us she left in the dust when the Lord called; while we can’t blame her, we do miss her. The family would love your company at Hanner Funeral Home from 6-8pm on Saturday, July 23, for visitation. We invite you to join us in a celebration of her life at First Baptist Church in Atlanta at 2pm on Sunday, July 24.
