Vernon Lee Cheatum Sr., 74, of Wake Village, TX died Monday, July 11, 2022, in Texarkana, TX. Mr. Cheatum was born July 4, 1948, in Ghent, Kentucky. He was a Supervisor with the Hydraulics Division with RRAD. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Cheatum of Wake Village, TX; two sons, Vernon L. Cheatum Jr. of Midland, TX, and Brandon (Kennedy) Cheatum of Texarkana, TX; two daughters, Alicia Ortner of Atlanta, GA, and Adrianna Cheatum (Shannon) Allen of Texarkana, TX; three brothers, William (Mary) Cheatum of San Jose, CA, Steven Cheatum of El Paso, TX, and Don (Marsha) Cheatum of Port Royal, KY; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation is Friday, July 29, 2022, 3:00-5:00 PM at Jones Stuart Mortuary. Services with military honors are Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 12:00 PM at House of Refuge with Rev. Kenneth Hill Sr., Eulogist. Interment is in Memorial Gardens under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary. Masks and social distancing required. Online registration is at jonesstuartmortuary.com.
