Lara Ann Blanks of Maud, Texas passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. She was 54. Lara was born August 29, 1967 to Billy Joe Turner and Betty Jo Turner. She worked in the field of construction instrumentation. She loved water sports and spending time with her grandchildren. Lara was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, William Travis Turner. She is survived by her husband, Homer Blanks, Sr. of Maud, Texas; her mother, Betty Jo Walters of Bivens, Texas; five daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Larry Justice of Kaufman, Texas, Tara Chappell and Gary Rodriguez of Kaufman, Texas, Lora Kristine and Brent Black of New Boston, Texas, Stephanie Kay and Daniel Rios of Princeton, Texas, and Kimberly Leann and Christopher Ardent of New Boston, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Austin Sontagg of Maud, Texas and Homer Lee, Jr. and Emily Blanks of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Tommy Joe Turner of Bivens, Texas; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lee Roy and Pat Blanks of New Boston, Texas; twelve grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Victory Holiness Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas with Pastor Joe Littleton and Pastor Charles Hillis officiating. A private interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in New Boston, Texas. Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas and 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Victory Holiness Tabernacle in New Boston, Texas.
