Eva Jean (Witherell) Turner passed away on March 12, 2022 in Longview, Texas after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 22, 1947 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to George and Betty (Jones) Witherell. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Betty (Jones) Witherell and a brother, Roy F. Witherell of Seattle, Washington. Eva was a meticulous housekeeper and a member of several ladies’ organizations. She was always ready to help anyone in need. She worked in banking in different capacities, until she became an officer at Allied Bank in Spring, Texas. She attended Pathway Church in Longview, Texas until her illness. She loved to cook and dance, and won a state cooking contest in Kentucky for her chicken pot pie. She attended Cutter Morning Star School in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ted Turner, of Longview, Texas, her sons William Hays of Dallas, Texas and John Robert (Bob) Hays of Royce City, Texas, two stepsons, Ted Turner, Jr. of Dallas, Texas and William Scott Turner of Portland, Oregon and a sister, Pattie (Witherell) Funderburg. Eva (Nana) was proud to have 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on March 18, 2022.
