Michael David Spearman, 54, better known as Mike went home to be with our Jesus, Lord and Savior on Jan. 28, 2022 at his home in Texarkana, TX. Michael was born to J. Sam Spearman, Jr. and Sandra Spearman Turney on July 3, 1967 in Longview, TX but lived most all of his years in Texarkana, TX. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time on Caddo Lake and Fin & Feather Hunt Club as well as hunting deer, ducks, and hogs on family land near Rodessa, LA. He was a graduate of Texas High School and received his certification in HVAC&R at Texarkana College and eventually served as an instructor. For over 10 years he traveled the country as truck driver for JB Hunt, CFI, and others where he was involved with Trucking for Jesus. He was a born again Christian and Holy Spirit Filled. He loved sharing the gospel with strangers, often preached at truck stops on Sunday mornings while out on the road and won dozens of souls to Christ. Michael met the love of his life Jennifer through a dear friend and were married June 14, 2000. Shortly after, he left the road and worked as a certified welder at Red River Army Depot and served as a union steward for many years. He continued until he was permanently disabled in 2017 from years of heavy labor. He was a very talented poet who could recite perfectly all of his many poems by heart. Michael was also an amazing grill master and cook who trained under classically trained French Chef Daniel at Chateau Deville in Sherwood, AR and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for friends and family at his home. He is survived by his mom Sandra Spearman Turney of Sherwood, AR; dad & stepmother J. Sam and Gloria Spearman, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; brother Joseph S. Spearman, III of Texarkana, TX and sister Suzanne Spearman of Sherwood, AR; sister-in-law Deborah Baker and niece Trinity Chase of Texarkana, TX; Aunt Marian Spearman Hatton and special cousins Johanna (Chris) and twins Remington and Savannah Sipes, Brandy Kirkland (Jonathan) and son Ace Andrew, Jessi (JD) McCracken, Johanna Ledbetter all of Marshall, TX and many other friends and family including Shane Smith whom he loved like a son. He was preceded in death by his beloved Jennifer May 23, 2018, their unborn child Micah Feb 1, 2005 and beloved dog PetePete ; grandparents Joe and Johanna Spearman, Sr. of Atlanta, TX and M. Copeland and Edna Rutledge of Lubbock, TX; his name sake Uncle David and Aunt Kay Rutledge of the Greater Houston Area; stepfather Chuck Turney of Connecticut, and special neighbor Bill Davis, Jr. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time on Facebook. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday March 19, 2022 at Pine Crest Cemetery, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service. Guest registry is available at www.hannerfuneralservice.com.
