Larry Monroe Smith

Larry Monroe Smith, age 82, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in a Shreveport, Louisiana hospital after a brief illness. He was born February 23, 1940 in Brummitt, Arkansas to Ira and Lucille Smith. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church, Atlanta. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from International Paper in 2006 after working for 49 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved daughter, Leann Smith. Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma Stanford Smith of Atlanta, Texas; son, Randy Smith and wife Christy of Atlanta, Texas; sister, Margaret Uran and husband Ron of Groveland, Florida; grandson, Zee Barfoot and fiancé Ashley Lewis of Conway, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, March 25, 2022 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Gary Davis and Bro. Dale Perkins officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
