Mrs. Barbara Ann Weaver was born August 18, 1949 in Texarkana, TX to the late Johnnie M. Smith Thompson and Mr. Robert Sterley. She departed this life on Friday, April 29th at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX. She was married to the late Odis G. Weaver for 36 years. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory: five sons, John W. Smith, Gary D. Smith, Lamarlo E. Smith, Rashad J. Smith and Dennis Palmer; one brother, Melvin Smith; four aunts, Gwendolyn Smith of Bastrop, LA, Bobbie Moore of Texarkana, TX, Joyce Kelly of Ashdown, AR, and Ada Simpkins of Stockton, CA; one uncle, Charles D. Smith of Texarkana, AR; one special sister, Mrs. Barbara Banks of Haughton, LA; one special granddaughter, Rashanea Smith; twenty-four (24) grandchildren and nine (9) great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Tena Derrick and Kirsten Thompson of California; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Barbara loved cooking cakes for friends and food for loved ones and I mean she put her foot in it. Whenever you laid your eyes on Barbara, you’d better believe that she was dressed to the “T”, looking like “Queen Bee”. Her heart was full of love and compassion. She treated everyone with a kind heart. Barbara loved the Lord and He was the head of her life. She was a member of the Greater New Hope Baptist Church. Most of the members who knew her would often say, “I want to see what outfit she gon’ wear next Sunday” because she never wore the same outfit twice. She always dressed to impress and loved clothes. Visitation is 5-7 today at Haynes Mortuary. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Masks are required for all services.
