SUE HAMILTON

Sue Hamilton, age 86, of De Kalb, Texas passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born September 27, 1935 to K.B. (Knub) and Josephine Hall of De Kalb, Texas. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She took pride in her home and family. She was one of the best cooks around and an excellent seamstress. She never knew how many were going to be seated at her table for lunch, but welcomed everyone. Sue was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, where she served on the fellowship and anniversary committees and as a past church secretary. Sue is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 65 years, Barton Hamilton. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Dickie Payne; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Clemons Hamilton, Bart Hamilton and Shana Woodson, and Bryce and Megan Hamilton; four grandchildren, Jenny McMillan and her husband, Wade, Chase Payne and his wife, Sharon, Lottie Hamilton, and Hatlee Hamilton, all of De Kalb, Texas; one brother, and two sisters-in-law, Doug and Joyce Hall of De Kalb, Texas and Sara Joyce Gunn of Gilmer, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. James Boyd Strain and Rev. Terry Carson officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
