REGINA PARKS

February 16, 1925- October 3, 2022 “Let your words be the genuine picture of your heart.” John Wesley Regina Virgie “Mamie” Kromer Parks, 97, of Atlanta, Texas, passed away at her home, surrounded by family, on October 3, 2022. She was born in Belfast, Pennsylvania, on February 16, 1925, to Stanley and Virgie Rissmiller Kromer. She and her husband, William “Bill” Parks, y had five children: William “Billy” (Cyndi), Cheryl Savage (David), Pamela Adams (David), Deborah Ratcliff (Randy) and Lisa Sloterdijk (Vincent). She, with her husband, worked in the office of United Ammunition Container, Inc. and Atlanta Equipment Company. She also owned and operator of The Little Store from 1977 to 1995 and ultimately a member of Law’s Chapel Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, her son, two brothers- Stanley and Carl Kromer- and one sister, Lucille Carman. She is survived by her daughters, daughter-in-law and sisters, Miriam Rounsaville and Kathleen Haney. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Heath, Jarrod, Clint, Cotty, and Mark Parks, Tiffany and Stanley Savage, Regina and Brandon (Spud) Adams; 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and her intrepid Kitty, Sophie. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers over the last few years for their tireless love and support: Carla Snow, Deborah Bryan, Nancy Battenfield and Sissy Privitt along with Hospice of Texarkana and her long-time physician, Dr. Richard Hozdic. Visitation will take place at 1pm, Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Law’s Chapel Methodist Church Family Life Center. The memorial service will follow at 2pm, with Dr. John Wilkey and Pastor Mike Akin presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Regina’s memory to Hospice of Texarkana, Law’s Chapel MC Scholarship Fund, Native Plant Society of Texas or a non-profit animal rescue of your choosing.
