John Franklin Thomas Jr.

Photo of John Franklin Thomas Jr.
Born 07/03/1977-Passed 03/11/2022. Johnny was climbing trees from the time he could walk and spent his life doing just that for a living. Many people would tell you “can’t nobody climb a tree like John Thomas, Jr”. He always held love close in his heart for his children, his family and his friends. He had a giving spirit and would give to others, when he himself had little. You always knew what he was thinking, because he was real and would say whatever was on his mind and his heart. Johnny inherited the gift of being musically inclined from his mama, daddy and grandpa. If he wasn’t up in a tree somewhere, you’d likely find him playing his guitar. His family and friends love him dearly and were not ready to say goodbye, but find peace knowing that Johnny knew and loved God. We know he went happily into His arms when God called his name. He will be missed beyond measure, but will live on in the hearts of those who love him. He leaves behind his children; McKenzie, Jonathan, Zachary, Jordan and Justin; grandchildren Alijah and Junior; parents John and Nora Thomas; sister, Michelle Jackson and husband Michael, Tammy Merkel and husband Bill; brothers Jonathan Wilder, Craig Suggs and wife Maryalice, Troy Suggs and wife Diana; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mama, Deborah Jester Hall; his grandparents, Clarence and Imogene Jester and Tommy and Louease Thomas. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 22, 2022 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, before the service. Interment will be in O’Farrell Cemetery. Guest registry is available at www.hannerfuneralservice.com.
