A burn ban has been issued for Red River County because of continuing dry weather.
County Judge L.D. Williamson issued the seven-day ban prohibiting outdoor burning effective noon Monday.
If extremely dry weather conditions persist, the burn ban will extended at the Red River County Commissioner's Court meeting on Oct. 31.
Hempstead County in Southwest Arkansas also remains under a burn ban.
A 10-day weather forecast for the area shows no significant chance of rain until Nov. 3.
