Horatio wins two in Little Rock tourney

LITTLE ROCK-Horatio scored all the runs it would need in the second inning as it defeated Baptist Prep of Little Rock, Ark., on Saturday.

The Lions scored five in the fifth and one more in the fifth.

Wade Beasley struck out a game-high 11 batters for the Lions and pitched the complete game. Garet Wilson and Dakota Frachiseur finished with two hits and two RBIs apiece.

 

Horatio 22, Bauxite 1

LITTLE ROCK-Horatio scored in every inning, including 13 in the second, to run-rule Bauxite on Saturday.

Taylor Chavez, Ryan Vaught and Garet Wilson each finished with two hits for the Lions, and Dakota Frachiseur and Wade Beasley both had three RBI.

Kenley Anderson got the win on the mound and now sports a 3-0 record.

Horatio will travel to Ashdown on Tuesday for a 5 p.m.
game.

SOFTBALL

Magnolia 7, Ashdown 3

HOPE, Ark.-Ashdown rallied to take a lead early on but couldn't stop Magnolia from taking the advantage back in a loss at the DMac
Tournament.

Adaysia Thompson fanned 10 and only gave up four hits in the loss. She also belted a home run and finished with two RBI, and teammate Kenya Wilson had a double.
