TEXARKANA, TEXAS - A waitress brings out a cheeseburger fresh out of the kitchen, stacked high with beef, cheese and fixings. The customer takes the sandwich on a metal tray, ready to take in the meal.

"You can take a picture of my cheeseburger, just don't take my picture," she said. But she gamely allows her cheeseburger to become an online sandwich sensation, with a cheesy grin.

MOOYAH of Texarkana, Texas, embraced the holiday and used it as a chance to both show off their signature burgers as well as invite customers who have not tried their sandwich yet.

"Every year, MOOYAH celebrates National Cheeseburger day by giving away burgers," said Sarah Harvey, manager of Texarkana's
MOOYAH, a chain with 82 stores worldwide. "Every year, we try to give it a twist. Last year, it was our double meat cheeseburgers."

This year, the giveaway was tied around their free MOOYAH app. Get the app, you get the burger. And with the app, you would get other freebies and goodies with promotions.

"We has a line outside before we even opened," said Harvey.

According to Kim Sellers, one of the owners, the local MOOYAH gave away about 204 cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day. That number is in addition to all the ones sold.

"This giveaway gives new customers a chance to come in and get to know us," said Sellers. "We make our burgers with 100 percent American beef.
Each burger is freshly made to each customers specifications. We are just thrilled that folks are taking this time to try us out."

Among other restaurants running promotions in conjunction with National Cheeseburger Day on Wednesday included Applebee's, Burger King and Dairy Queen.
