TEXARKANA, Texas -- TexLine Card House will open soon. Set for a soft opening Friday and a grand opening shortly after the new year, the establishment advertises itself as a social club featuring poker, most notably Texas Holdem. With membership fees and money paid for time in the chair, Texarkana card floppers may find themselves a home there.

"This is a social club that just happens to feature card games," said Chuck Hooks, manager. "Cash prizes and tournaments are a regular part of the what will happen here. In addition, we will have a professional security staff as well as staffer in other positions."

The club is owned by Nora Garcia, and is one of 80 similar styled clubs in cities throughout the state of Texas, such as Dallas, Houston, Austin and Corpus Christie.

"As members play, they also have access to drinks, snacks and the like," Hooks said. "We are a non-smoking establishment, however we will have a patio set up for our members who like to smoke."

Hooks said TexLine Card House will be a big supporter of local restaurants and dining establishments.

TexLine Card House is hiring and has positions in cashiers, dealers and servers to fill.
