Bowie County man arrested for allegedly shooting mother's boyfriend

TEXARKANA, Texas - A Bowie County man has been arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence for allegedly shooting his mother's boyfriend.

Lucas Andrew Jackson, 29, is being held in the Bi-State jail. His bail has not been set yet.

Deputies responded Saturday to a residence in the 9400 block of W. Seventh Street in reference to a shooting, according to a news release from the Bowie County Sheriff's Office.

The woman who called 911 said her son had just shot her live-in boyfriend. When deputies arrived, the shooter emerged from the residence and surrendered to deputies without incident, according to the news release.

Deputies spoke with the witness and learned that Lucas Andrew Jackson had allegedly shot the victim multiple times with a handgun. The victim is in stable condition and expected to recover from his injuries.
