TEXARKANA, Ark. -- A new coffee bar that promises to be community based will open Saturday.

Alley Cats Coffee Bar plans to use locally sourced goods for menu items such as hot or iced coffees, teas, and "anti-coffee" drinks such as hot chocolate and soda. The shop is opening for Downtown Live on Friday downtown, with an official opening on Monday.

One unique creation is a caffeinated, carbonated beverage called a Zoomie that is flavored with green apple, watermelon, raspberry, blue raspberry or peach syrup.

There will also be a variety of "munchies" for customers.

"We have an ever-going list of pastries," owner Michael Perry said.

Muffins, danishes, bagels and turnovers are on the menu, and charcuterie boards will also be available for guests.

Interviews are being held for potential employees. Those interested can inquire with Alley Cats Coffee Bar on Facebook.

(Alley Cats Coffee Bar is at 305 E. Front St. Business hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to late on Friday and Saturday. For more information, visit Alley Cats Coffee Bar on Facebook.)
